A female Western Bluebird lands on the cross-beam of my feather pole. 20 June 2005. Posted by Hello

This is my feather contraption. It is made out of bamboo and duct tape. =) A white feather and dyed-dark feather are attached to each end of the cross-beam with fishing line. The pole is then tied to a fence post a minimum of 5 meters from an active nest box. Once a bird attempts to take a feather, the trial is ended and I move to another box.  Posted by Hello
